British Columbia Go Electric Rebates Program
Opens 1 Apr 2020 09:00 (PDT)
Description
To be eligible for the program:
- Please ensure that the EXACT make, model, AND YEAR of the vehicle you are applying for is listed on our eligible vehicle list. If the make, model, or year, as indicated on the purchase receipt, differ from our eligible vehicle list, your application will be declined.
- Please complete this application in full and submit the application with all supporting documentation. The application must be submitted within 90 days of the vehicle purchase date and before funds are exhausted to qualify for the rebate. Late applications will not be processed.
- Applicants for cargo e-bikes, on road medium- and heavy-duty vehicles, utility vehicles, low-speed vehicles (non-NZEV), and airport and port specialty vehicles must have a valid B.C. business license, be a non-profit organization, or a public entity. Eligible organizations can apply for all vehicle categories.
- Individuals are only eligible to apply for electric motorcycle rebates and neighbourhood zero emission vehicle (NZEV) rebates under the low-speed vehicle category.
- The vehicle must be a certified new vehicle constructed entirely from new parts that have never been the subject of a retail sale, or previously registered in British Columbia or another jurisdiction. See program guide for details.
- Vehicles must be purchased in Canada through authorized dealers or directly from the OEM.
Please carefully review the application checklist document before applying.
Rebate application limits:
- Any eligible organization (business, non-profit, public-sector organization) applying for a rebate under the On Road Medium and Heavy-Duty category and any Class 8 Terminal Tractors from the Airport and Port Specialty category may receive a maximum of ten rebates per calendar year from the program.
- Any eligible organization applying for a rebate under other categories (Electric Motorcycle, Low-speed, Cargo e-bikes, Utility and other Airport and Port Specialty vehicles) may receive a maximum of ten rebates for the lifetime of the program.
- Any eligible individual may receive a maximum of five rebates from the program.
Leased vehicles:
- If the vehicle is leased, it must be for a minimum of 12 months, and for Medium and Heavy-Duty or Airport and Port Specialty Vehicles applications, the vehicle must be leased for a minimum of 36 months (any broken lease may result in a repayment of grant).
Application tips:
- Applicants can apply for more than one vehicle rebate; however, each vehicle must be applied for separately (i.e., one vehicle per form).
- If you are applying as business/fleets, a copy of the valid business license must be uploaded with the application. You must submit copies of proof of ID, utility bills, vehicle insurance, vehicle registration, and WorkSafe BC number.
All businesses purchasing eligible vehicles through Go Electric Rebates will undergo an auditing process.
